Job Description: Purchase Ledger Clerk (Temp)
Our Client is looking to recruit a Purchase Ledger Clerk on a temporary basis. This assignment is for 3 - 6 months and is based in Crawley, West Sussex.
In this role you will be taking responsibility for purchase ledger activities ensuring timely and accurate payments of high volumes of invoices to our suppliers and aiding the resolution of supplier queries to ensure continuity of supplies to the business.
Duties:
Process supplier invoices ensuring compliance with VAT regulations that fall within your responsibility in a timely and accurate manner to ensure there is no disruption to supplies to the business.
Manage and control the prompt resolution of supplier queries that are received on a daily basis. Dealing with final notices, legal proceeding notices and stopped supplier notices and to deal with the queries involves a lot of contact with various people at different levels within the business, and can involve influencing people to take any immediate action required by them.
Carry out supplier statement reconciliations as and when required to resolve known issues.
Ensure all invoices that are processed are scanned in a timely manner.
Any other related tasks deemed appropriate by the Accounts Payable Supervisor.
Skills:
Strong organisational and time management skills are essential in this role.
Experience:
Systems use: SAP, Mapics, Excel, Word and APS/SIPS.
A minimum of one year’s experience working with purchase ledger activities would be preferable.
Experience of computerised systems is a must (ideally SAP), as are analytical and communication skills.
Working knowledge of modern financial record keeping principles, procedures, methods, and terminology pertinent to an accounts office.
